Psychology Library Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges are limited to university faculty, staff and students.

Outside patrons are only allowed to borrow material with a "Borrowers Card" purchased from the Access Office in Firestone Library.

Books circulate for the academic year to faculty, graduate students and library staff. Regular staff, undergraduates and guest borrowers may borrow books for 8 weeks. Seniors who obtain "senior privileges" from Firestone may borrow for the academic year.

For renewals, all material must be returned in person to the Psychology Library. There are no renewals over the telephone, through e-mail or in writing.

No journals circulate (either bound or unbound).

Reserves circulate and may leave the library for 3 hours. If a Reserve is charged out in the last hour that the library is open, it may circulate overnight. It must be returned within the first hour that the library re-opens the following morning.

Audiovisual materials can circulate to university faculty, staff and students only, for a period of 4 days. They can be renewed for a limit of 3 times. These materials must be returned to the library to be renewed. Overdue fines will be $1.00 per day for each video. For lost material, you will be charged the full cost of the piece or set.

The Psychology Library charges fines for reserves, recalls, and lost material. Lost books will be charged a $50.00 processing fee plus the cost of the book. If out-of-print you will be charged $100.
